Ghazal 441 (غزل ۴۴۱) · Divan of Hafez
چه بودی ار دل آن ماه مهربان بودی؟
che būdī ar del-e ān māh mehrabān būdī
ke ḥāl-e mā na chonīn būdī ar chonān būdī
begoftamī ke che arzad nasīm-e ṭorre-ye dūst
garam be-har sar-e mūyī hezār jān būdī
barāt-e khvosh-delī-ye mā che kam shodī yā rab
garash neshān-e amān az bad-e zamān būdī
garam zamāne sarafrāz dāshtī o ʿazīz
sarīr-e ʿezzatam ān khāk-e āstān būdī
ze parde kāsh borūn āmadī cho qaṭre-ye ashk
ke bar do dīde-ye mā ḥokm-e ū ravān būdī
agar na dāyere-ye ʿeshq rāh barbastī
cho noqte Ḥāfeẓ-e sargashte dar miyān būdī
